Up-to-date (to September 30, 2010) accurate information on using hypertension drugs safely to Avoid Adverse Effects in Adults. The interface is easy and intuitive to navigate, colour-coded, searchable, zoomable, viewable in portrait and landscape, with a bookmark for archiving favourites. Touch the 'Open' commands on the memorable rainbow home page listing the 9 groups of antihypertensive drugs with different mechanisms of action to reveal the list of drugs within each group. Touch on any of the 58 drugs to rapidly access clear, concise, and consistently presented drug information via 5 icons at the base of the screen (CC: cautions, contraindications, indications; DI: drug interactions; AE: adverse effects, M: mechanism of action; D: dosage and overdose). Internet access is not required.

Really useful hyperlinks are provided throughout to a Glossary and 6 Rapid Reference Appendices (1. CYP3A4 inhibitors/ inducers; 2. Adverse cardiovascular effects; 3. Withdrawing antihypertensives; 4. Drugs that lower BP; 5. Drugs that increase blood K; 6. Surgery and anaesthesia).

Developed and designed to make prescribing, using, and understanding hypertension drugs easy and effective, and to Avoid Adverse Effects in Adults for doctor, nurse, and other prescribers, medical and biomedical science students, and users of drugs for hypertension, by expert editor, UK-registered Dr Lindy van den Berghe. All information has been checked for accuracy against the latest Summaries of Product Characteristics (SPCs) provided by drug companies on their websites and through http://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/. Free updates incorporating new information provided in updated SPCs will be available every 3 months from the App Store.
